| Michael Sitter, Dosimetrist |
Michael Sitter founded Professional Dosimetry Services (PDS) in 2006 because he believed there was a better way to offer remote planning and quality assurance services for prostate brachytherapy. Prior to PDS, Mike worked for 12 years with Seattle Prostate Institute and Pro-Qura as a dosimetrist and worked for two years before that as a clinical Radiation Therapist.
Over the years Mike has performed approximately 20,000 pre and post-plans and was instrumental in the training of physicians, physicists, and dosimetrists in all aspects of prostate seed implant dosimetry. Mike taught the dosimetry session at the Seattle Prostate Institute�s monthly course for 7 years and was instrumental in developing their quality assurance program. He has also traveled to clinics around the world to train physicists and dosimetrists in prostate brachytherapy pre and post planning techniques.
Mike has worked as a consultant for Varian Brachytherapy since 2000. In this role, he has trained clinics across the country on the Variseed treatment planning software and also provides customer support for all brachytherapy products.
Since being founded, PDS has expanded its services to include Quality Assurance through peer-review for prostate seed implants and remote planning and QA for APBI.
